Dear Mr. President,
Social Security should not even be on the table in these negotiations. Were they on the table when Bush decided to give away the US surplus? No.
We can find a way to make these negotiations happen without social security and medicare on the table. This is just the beginning of dismantling programs that the citizens of the US like. Eventually it will be chopped and cut and won't be appealing anymore. Then it can be privatized. The GOP doesn't care if that route takes 2 months or 30 years to get done. We have seen it before while the middle class slowly gets dismantled.
Lets look other place like our military budget and tax benefits that many very wealthy people receive. How about offshore accounts that protect money from being taxed, hiring illegal immigrants and not paying into payroll taxes.
This debate is none sense. It is all about the GOP getting something the people of this country voted against. Come on people... be much more creative with finding other avenues other than social security and medicare.
We might be taken advantage of but the American people are not stupid.
Sincerely. Voiceout Project
